On the way to Dyersville, Iowa, we visit the John Deere Pavilion in Moline, Illinois.
Open to the public with free admission, learn about the history and industrial contributions by Deere & Company.
The origin of John Deere’s early products are on display in pristine condition.
At Dyersville, Iowa, we had felt an unexplainable calling to visit.
The film location is preserved with some new additions that enrich the spirit of the experience.
The farmhouse stands exactly as you remember it from the movie, but now you can be in it by tour or a simple walk-up visit.
This is the porch where the Kinsella family watched their special visitors emerge from the cornfield to play ball.
The perspective and spatial proximity from the farmhouse to the baseball diamond appear just like the scenes in the movie.
Select weekends feature Ghost Players, a live baseball event with actors/athletes playing the roles of  players from the past, in authentic vintage uniforms.
This is the view from the famous mini bleachers between the diamond and the farmhouse.
This is no ordinary cornfield, nor are they simple rows of corn.
Ghost Players emerge from these corn rows, and fade away into the night after each game, just as in the movie.
Youth baseball fields are being constructed near the Field of Dreams Movie Site.
This is the view that “Shoeless” Joe Jackson, played by Ray Liotta, saw as he fielded pop ups from Ray Kinsella, played by Kevin Costner.
The pitcher’s mound where Eddie “Knuckles” Cicotte, played by David Strathairn, nearly put it in the ear of Archie “Moonlight” Graham, played by Frank Whaley.
First base is every young baseball player’s first joy at reaching it.
Home plate, to be protected, but not crowded, unless you want one in your ear.
The Dugout offers food and refreshments, as well as a chance to learn more about the Field of Dreams movie and purchase a bottle of Field of Dreams Bourbon Whiskey.
Just as others before us did, we also did come visit the Field of Dreams.
The original caretaker and guide of the Field of Dreams film location, the legacy of Denise Miarecki Stillman lives on at today’s Movie Site.
The nice drive home from Dyersville, Iowa offers a chance opportunity to visit or revisit historic downtown Galena, Illinois, that stood in for Chisholm, Minnesota in the Field of Dreams movie.
It’s a time shift in the movie and in real life with the past so well preserved.

It’s a once in a lifetime chance to step into a classic movie location about our national pastime. Just like Doctor Graham got his wish to go back for one moment, we relived our nostalgia for the past. “I never got to bat in the major leagues. I would have liked to have had that chance. Just once. To stare down a big league pitcher. To stare him down, and just as he goes into his windup, wink. Make him think you know something he doesn’t. That’s what I wish for…And is there enough magic out there in the moonlight to make this dream come true?”

  1. This place looks even more incredible, than I imagined… I can’t believe I haven’t gone yet. Always wanted to see the Field of Dreams in person, it’s so historic.

    I still remember when the Cubs played there, I wanted to go so badly but those tickets were crazy expensive. One day, I’ve got to make this trip happen ⚾🌽

  9. I really enjoyed your images and stories from the Field of Dreams Movie Site. It’s such a special place. We visited there in 2009 before Denise Stillman bought it and made all the upgrades. In my pictures the red buildings are all faded. I only remember seeing sweatshirts and tshirts in the gift shop. I’m glad to see it is doing so well today.
