Sushi is revolving while our tastes are evolving. From traditional sashimi, nigiri, and makimono, to contemporary blends of flavors across cultures, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar will keep you guessing, “What’s next?”
What’s good is everything. Just tap the lid to open the dome or touch the screen to feast first with your eyes. The robot will serve you your drinks, and the conveyor belt will rotate a carousel of picture-perfect traditional Japanese sushi or modern fusion. The upper level conveyor belt will zip you your onscreen order before you know it.
And be on the lookout for the prized Gachapon, ready to drop after every 15th plate. Now, the wheels are spinning!

“Kura always welcomes everyone in Japanese with ‘Irasshaimase!’”
Lisa, my mom and I revisited Kura Revolving Sushi Bar. The first time was without expectations, and we were impressed then. This time, familiar with the system, we wanted to be a little wild with our choices, so we brought our appetites and some pent-up excitement. This time it was for real which meant photos and flying food!
We arrived before the first lunchtime wave, and we seated ourselves to get a good view of the conveyor belt carousel and the robot. This cute little server was busier than a one-legged robot in an a*s kicking contest. A musical tune played while its front display lit up as it coasted by with fresh drinks for every table. It was hard to get mad or think of our problems left behind with a cheerful robot serving drinks.
We started pushing buttons, flipping lids, and pushing more buttons. I needed to push some buttons of my own. The food was going fast!
“The Soy Milk Donuts melt in my mouth!”
My mom noticed that the rice was of premium quality and seasoned with excellent vinegar. I confirmed this by checking the Kura website which spoke to this authenticity. Rice is the foundation of sushi. If it’s poor quality, then it doesn’t matter how good the topping. But that doesn’t mean excellent rice can carry low-grade sashimi either. Attention and commitment to quality are proven in every grain, and every bite.
Lisa couldn’t resist the Premium Beef going ’round and ’round, so she lifted a couple plates. She was impressed, not easy to do. Kura was very consistent with presentation, freshness, and flavor with every dish. From savory to umami to sweet, we kept tossing discarded empties like we were at a Greek wedding. On the 15th plate disposal, a Gachapon dropped and rolled around until I got up to coax it down the chute. On our first visit we were startled by a plastic ball dropping right onto our table. We were unaware of this reward or the delivery. This time it was a little like watching a tea kettle reach a boil.
One thing that Japanese food doesn’t do is incapacitate diners like beached whales. This frisky freedom meant that I was jumping above the surface to scan for desserts. I found a few onscreen, touched, and waited. A brief moment later, digital became physical. How freaking cool was that?
“I feel very satisfied and happy!”
We shared our thoughts. Mom: “Kura always welcomes everyone in Japanese with ‘Irasshaimase!’ I like the prizes and the robot that brings drinks. I can taste the premium quality of their rice. The desserts are also very good. Kura is a very fun place!” Lisa: “I love to take sushi from the conveyor belt or place an order onscreen that comes right to the table. Kura’s Premium Beef is delicious. The Soy Milk Donuts melt in my mouth. I like that the plates are priced the same so everyone can just have a good time!” And me: “Kura prepares authentic traditional and modern Japanese food. There’s a lot of choices for kids or people who are new to sushi. The desserts are well above my expectations. I feel very satisfied and happy!”
Sushi is like music. There’s a lot out there. It’s been around for a long time. Different cultures add their personalities. There’s good, and there’s not so good. You know right away. And you know what you like. It doesn’t matter what the next person thinks. There is a baseline of quality that’s hard to define but must be met. It revolves around authenticity and a promise of quality. These are the sweet sensations to our palate from Kura Revolving Sushi Bar.
