“The Spunky Dunkers Peanut Cake donut is very moist! I taste something almost like ginger? I like the Red Velvet Cake donut too. It’s very light. I’m inhaling it!”

If you already know, then just look at the pretty pictures before you do a doughnut on your way to Spunky Dunkers. If you don’t know, then do the same thing. I’ll see you when you get back. Then we can compare notes! Feelin’ spunky?

Although I could burn out a few donuts in one go, I thought it best to fly under the radar and bring in a few friends. Lisa, my mom and our friends: Lisa R, Tracy and Scott were invited to a buffet of donuts from Spunky Dunkers. This would be our friends’ first experience.

When I visited Spunky Dunkers in Palatine, I was met with a long line that swirled from the counter to the front door. The line moved quickly, but not as fast as the Spunky Dunkers crew. Actually, my mouth moved the fastest, and I didn’t even start eating yet. I was ordering the donuts without reading the labels. It was as if my mouth was speaking for me.

Back home with everyone present, Lisa portioned the dozen donuts into bite size pieces. Everyone “oohed” and “aahed.” It was like the new hotness rolled off the ramp at the auto show. Until we develop scratch and sniff displays, scroll up and down to see the photos. I’ll meet you back here. Don’t lick the glass!

“The Blueberry Cake donut is very tasty! There’s real blueberries in this. The Powdered Lemon Filled donut is very good too. These donuts are not greasy at all. I usually don’t eat donuts, but Spunky Dunkers donuts are delicious!”

Before I replay the entire affair, let me say one thing.

I feel regret.

I feel regret when I stray foolishly and eat a donut other than Spunky Dunkers. The name should be the standard for donuts like Xerox for copies and Kleenex for tissues. Why do I fancy this notion? Let me sing it to you.

Spunky Dunkers brings back the old ways

Everyone was quiet. This always means that we like what we’re eating. I broke the silence and asked everyone for their thoughts. I had to ask again. Slowly the words formed in between bites, and then the sugar kicked in!

My mom: “The Spunky Dunkers Peanut Cake donut is very moist! I taste something almost like ginger? I like the Red Velvet Cake donut too. It’s very light. I’m inhaling it!” Lisa: “The Cinnamon Cake donut from Spunky Dunkers has a nice bite! It’s not too sweet. The Powdered Lemon Filled donut is a perfect blend of sweet and tart. The German Chocolate Cake donut is very interesting; it’s a whole new level of flavor. I like everything!” Lisa R: “The German Chocolate Cake donut is really moist with nice toasted coconut! I really like the Black Raspberry Filled donut. I don’t feel a greasy aftertaste at all. Spunky Dunkers must use a light, high quality oil. I know where I’m going next!” Tracy: “The Blueberry Cake donut is very tasty! There’s real blueberries in this. The Powdered Lemon Filled donut is very good too. These donuts are not greasy at all. I usually don’t eat donuts, but Spunky Dunkers donuts are delicious!” Scott: “Mmm…the German Chocolate Cake donut is very good! I like the toasted coconut. I really like the Peanut Cake donut. I love the peanuts. I also love that Spunky Dunkers put real blueberries in their Blueberry Cake donuts. The Powdered Ring Cake donut is nice and thick. The powdered sugar is not too sweet. I like them all!” And me: “It IS as good as the first time! I am never disappointed with Spunky Dunkers. Their donuts are so fresh and their quality is obvious by all the rave reviews. There aren’t enough stars to give them an accurate rating. I give them five suns!”

“The German Chocolate Cake donut is really moist with nice toasted coconut! I really like the Black Raspberry Filled donut. I don’t feel a greasy aftertaste at all. Spunky Dunkers must use a light, high quality oil. I know where I’m going next!”

I never play favorites, but I had to ask. My mom: Blueberry Cake, Peanut. Lisa: Powdered Lemon Filled, German Chocolate Cake. Lisa R: German Chocolate Cake, Blueberry Cake, Cinnamon Cake. Tracy: Blueberry Cake. Scott: Blueberry Cake, German Chocolate Cake. And me: Powdered Lemon Filled, Peanut, German Chocolate Cake. As of today.

In the afterglow of Spunky Dunkers, my first thought is, “When can I have another go?” They’re open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Go now. Spunky love will find you.
